How does the EZEE WEAN halter and strap function?

When the foal bends down to nurse, the flexible urethane prongs function as an irritant and cause the mother discomfort. The mother signals to the baby her unwillingness to allow nursing. The foal also becomes uncomfortable from smaller prongs located on the underside of the profile flaps. The foal self-inflicts its own discomfort every time it tries to nurse. When the nursing attempts stop, the baby's discomfort immediately stops (behavioral reward).
