Split Horseman Reins

The Split natural horseman rein is very popular with many of the trainers and clinicians (Pat Parelli, Clinton Anderson, etc.) who use this type of training tool. Each rein is made with Samson Rope, the finest quality soft, marine grade double braided nylon rope you can buy. There is an inner core of braided rope covered by an outer core of braided rope. This gives the rope a "live" feel which you can use to send energy, direction, and feel to your horse. The splices are all hand sewn for extra strength.

These Split Horseman Reins, come as a split/pair. Each rein is 6' 6" in length. They include leather popper on one end and a leather water strap with ties and a scissor snap on the opposite end. The leather tie allows a quick change of hardware or the removal of hardware all together. If no hardware is preferred, the water strap may be directly fastened to the bit, eliminated the use do the scissor snap. They have a nice soft supple feel to the touch.

The two reins can be woven/connected together to make one long lead line. Great in case of an emergency, or when a horse balks at a water crossing and you need the extra length for safety.

Most all of our rope products are made from Samson Rope, high quality marine rope as described above. Our products requiring cord size line are also made of soft, flexible nylon that provides a "live feel."
